How to Cook Rice? 5 Simple Cooking Tips to Avoid Missing it.

Have you ever failed to cook your rice? So have I! But now I know a few tricks for cooking rice. Fortunately, there are a few tips to make sure you cook your rice successfully. Here are five ways to cook your rice so that it’s never too hot!

1. In the pan

The most common way to cook rice is to immerse it in a large volume of water. You can either add the rice once the water is boiling and leave it to cook for 10 minutes, or you can cover the rice with cold water and bring it to a boil. In this case, you wait until all the water has been absorbed before draining the rice.

2. Pan-fried

For rice pilaf, simply fry the rice in a tablespoon of butter or olive oil. Stir well and then add 1 glass of hot water. Leave to cook for about 15 minutes.

3. Steaming

The following method, which is widely used for Asian rice, requires an hour’s soaking beforehand. Forget it, therefore, if you are in a hurry! If you are not in a hurry, use the steam to cook your rice, which will take about 25 minutes to cook.

4. In the microwave

There is nothing to stop you from cooking your rice in the microwave – quite the opposite! Make sure you have as much water as rice (for example, one glass of rice for one glass of water), rinse your rice well and put it in a microwave-safe dish. Set your oven to medium power for 15 minutes.

5. Risotto style

Risotto is a cooking method that is often left out for lack of time. You have to stand aside and gradually add the cooking water. The rice should first be browned in oil or butter, then the stock added, ladle by ladle, waiting for the liquid to be fully absorbed between each ladle.


To save energy, remember to cover your water when you bring it to the boil to avoid unnecessary heat loss. If you have an electric cooker, don’t hesitate to turn off your hob 4 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Electric hobs continue to heat up even after they have been switched off. Forget about stock cubes, which are expensive. Add a dash of olive oil to your cooking water and season it with various herbs. The result will be as economical as it is delicious! And be smart: add a few handfuls of rice to make a delicious salad to take to the office the next day! You’ll save the price of a lunch in a restaurant!
